Ballard Power Systems to Deliver 18 Fuel Cell Engines to Canadian Pacific Kansas City

Ballard Power Systems said Thursday that it has received a new order for 18 fuel cell engines from Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
The Canadian proton exchange membrane fuel cell products manufacturer said that the order is for 18 200-kilowatt fuel cell engines and are expected to be delivered this year as CPKC looks to expand its hydrogen locomotive program.
Ballard said it has supplied CPKC so far with 20 fuel cell engines for its locomotives which have been undergoing field testing in 2022 and early this year.
No financial details of the order were disclosed.
