  • China International Development Corporation’s Shenzhen-based subsidiary signs a strategic framework deal with CIMC GH2 to develop AEM electrolyzers in China.
  • The proposed joint venture would see a 51/49 ownership split, strengthening the company’s entry into the green hydrogen production market.

China International Development Corporation Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Flex Fuel Hydrogen Development (Shenzhen) Company Limited, has signed a strategic framework agreement with CIMC GH2 Technology Ltd. The agreement outlines plans to establish a joint venture aimed at advancing hydrogen generation technologies, specifically focusing on the testing and pilot production of anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers. According to the announcement, the joint venture would be structured with 51% ownership by Flex Fuel Hydrogen Development and 49% by CIMC GH2, positioning the group to leverage CIMC’s technical expertise in green hydrogen equipment manufacturing.

The move marks a significant diversification step for China International Development Corporation, a company traditionally known for its operations in leather goods, fashion retail, industrial hemp products, and hydrogen engine cleaning services. The partnership is seen as a strategic entry into China’s expanding green hydrogen sector, tapping into new growth areas as the nation ramps up its renewable energy and hydrogen economy targets. While still at the exploratory stage, the collaboration signals the company’s intent to carve out a competitive position in electrolyzer technology, a critical component in green hydrogen production.
