Electrolysis Focus: Acquisition of Oxford nanoSystems Ltd by Dr David Hodgson
Oxford nanoSystems Ltd (ONS), a specialist in high surface area materials and advanced test and characterisation capabilities, has been acquired in full by Dr David Hodgson, who has been appointed Executive Chairman.
ONS has built a strong reputation in the electrolysis sector, with its alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) and anion exchange membrane electrolysis (AEM) test stations widely recognised as industry-leading solutions. Under its new ownership, the company will prioritise the development and delivery of cutting-edge test station and cell/stack hardware solutions to support the growing green hydrogen market. Dr Hodgson, commented:
ONS offers state-of-the-art test stations.
“Our focus will be on advancing this segment of the green hydrogen sector, providing material and process developers with essential tools for performance characterisation.”
To further strengthen ties with the research community, ONS has launched an Academic Loan Scheme, enabling academic institutions to access long-term loan arrangements for AWE and AEM test stations. A limited number of units are available, and interested institutions are invited to register their interest by contacting ONS directly.
Dr Hodgson, added:
Participation in this scheme will encourage collaboration with leading researchers, enabling us to jointly identify future characterisation requirements
Looking ahead, ONS will actively pursue strategic partnerships to accelerate innovation, broaden market reach, and ensure the continued delivery of industry-leading electrolysis solutions.
