Chinese Company Exported First MW-Class PEM Electrolyser

On October 8, Shanghai H-Ray S&T Co., Ltd (H-Ray) announced it shipped a MW-Class PEM electrolyser to an oversea client, marking a milestone for China’s electrolyser sector.

China has an international reputation for its alkaline electrolyser-good quality, unbeatable price, fast delivery, while, in the public perception, its PEM electrolysers do not have such competitiveness compatible with its alkaline electrolysers.

Things are changing fast. The researchers and engineers in China are striving to improve the performance of their PEM electrolyser, reduce the usage of iridium catalysts, and localize supply of essential parts.
