500 Nm³/h PEM electrolyzer of SPIC Hydrogen Energy Tech Received Third-Party Certification
SPIC Hydrogen Energy Tech has recently achieved a significant milestone in PEM hydrogen production technology with its newly certified 500 Nm³/h PEM electrolyzer. As the largest single-cell PEM electrolyzer in China, the 500 Nm³/h PEM electrolyzer, equipped with the independently developed high-stability catalysts and high-reliability large-area membrane electrodes, marks another significant breakthrough for SPIC Hydrogen Energy Tech in the field of PEM hydrogen production and a milestone in China's drive for independent hydrogen production technology.
SPIC Hydrogen Energy Tech’s megawatt-level PEM electrolyzer, which has been successfully deployed in the Da'an wind and solar green hydrogen synthesis ammonia integrated demonstration project, marks a significant milestone in the company's technological advancements. The high-performance electrolyzer, with an accumulated operating time of over 10,000 hours, has been recognized by the National Energy Administration as one of the top 10 scientific and technological innovations in the energy industry in 2023.
With a rated current density of 1.8 A/cm² and a specific hydrogen consumption of 4.4 kWh/Nm³, the certified 500 Nm³/h electrolyzer represents a significant advancement in large-scale hydrogen production technology. This achievement, made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Central Enterprises Green Hydrogen Production, Storage and Transportation Innovation Joint Venture, highlights the potential of such electrolyzers to accelerate the transition to a clean and sustainable energy future.
