China’s first MW class PEM electrolyzer delivered to South Africa
Shanghai H-Ray Exports China’s First MW-Class EU CE-Certified PEM Hydrogen Equipment, Delivered to South Africa’s ESKOM
On October 8, 2025, the "International Hydrogen Energy Day", Shanghai H-Ray Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai H-Ray") announced that its MW-class PEM hydrogen production equipment, certified by EU CE, has been shipped overseas to a project site under ESKOM, South Africa's national power utility.
This marks the first overseas shipment of MW-class PEM hydrogen production equipment manufactured in China. The product meets the requirements of fluctuating operation scenarios for solar hydrogen production and features high integration, automation, and low energy consumption.
The high-purity hydrogen (Purity: 99.999%, Dew point: -75 °C) is mainly used in the hydrogen-cooled generator systems of thermal power plants, while the rest is supplied to nearby chemical enterprises through the park's pipeline network. This represents a significant progress of domestic MW-class PEM hydrogen production equipment in the field of industrial applications.
Shanghai H-Ray's MW-class PEM hydrogen production skid-mounted system adopts an "All-in-One" modular and serialized design. The product has successfully obtained EU CE certification, and its safety, reliability, and operational requirements fully comply with the strict usage conditions of power and chemical enterprises as well as the risk management standards for hydrogen production processes.
